Obituary

Robert L. Wilton, age 80 of Fields Road, Watertown passed away Sunday morning at Hospice at Ellis Farm in Watertown. Robert was born January 26, 1933 in the Town of Champion the son of Harry and Cleva Gardner Wilton. Robert served in the Navy from 1953 until 1955 aboard the USS Hank as a gunners mate. He married Sue Bourcy in September 1962 in Kentucky. Robert worked at N.Y. Air Brake as a machinist. He was a member of Harold Townsend Post 1757 American Legion of Sackets Harbor and the Machinist Union. He is survived by his wife Sue, daughters Janet Vandermill and Donna Wilton, both of Watertown and a son Ken Wilton and his wife Michelle of Watertown. He has four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sisters Gladys LaLone of Dexter, Anita Roach of Watertown and Joyce Simpson of Kentucky and a brother James Wilton of Brownville also survive. He was predeceased by a brother Curtis Wilton and grandson David Vandermill. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County1398 Gotham St., Watertown, N.Y. 13601. A private burial will be held in Dexter Cemetery.
