Obituary

Robert K. Nadelen, age 85 of Brownville passed away August 7th in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Robert was born March 14, 1924 in Sackets Harbor the son of Martin and Ethel Kelley Nadelen. He graduated from Brownville-Glen Park High School and served in the Army during World War 11 in the 333 Engineers; stationed in Central Europe. Robert married Arlene J. Wagoner on March 22, 1947 at the Brownville United Methodist Church. He worked for N.Y. Telephone Co. as a line foreman and construction supervisor. He retired in 1985. Robert was a 50 year member of Brownville Methodist Church, Brownville F. & A.M. where he served as a past master and was a District Deputy Grand Master Jefferson District of the State of N.Y. F. &A.M. he was patron for Order of Eastern Stars, coached Little League and American Legion Baseball, and a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. Surviving is his wife Arlene, son Martin and Rosemary Nadelen and grandson Andrew Nadelen of Colorado Springs, son Lon and Cathy Nadelen and grandson Chris and Amy Nadelen and great grandson Alexander Kingsley Nadelen of Fairport, N.Y. and grandson Shawn and Mary Nadelen of Baltimore, adopted daughter Bettina Miller of Colorado Springs. He also has several nieces and nephews surviving. He was predeceased by a daughter Robin Nadelen on May 22, 2000, brothers Karl, Clifford, Theodore and Ross and sisters Anna Redden, Olga Davis and Bertha Woodard. A memorial service will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the Brownville United Methodist Church with Rev. Leon Van Wie officiating. The Masons and Order of Eastern Star will also conduct a service at that time. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Donations may be made to the Robin Nadelen Scholarship Fund % General Brown Central High School or the Brownville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
