Ronald Maurice Hall, 56, of Watertown, New York, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 17, 2026.

He was born October 5, 1969, in his city, Harlem, New York, to mother Toni Brown. He arrived prematurely, weighing 4 lb 4 oz, and grew to be 6’4, a man everyone would call larger than life. 

He was a graduate of Pemberton High School in Pemberton, New Jersey.

Basketball was his first love. After high school he attended The University of Connecticut, UConn, on a full scholarship and later transferred to The State University of New York “SUNY” Jefferson, following his military family relocation to Fort Drum, New York. He was later inducted into the SUNY Jefferson Hall of Fame. He had the opportunity to further his basketball career but chose his family first.

After college he worked construction and played minor league basketball in Honolulu, Hawaii, before building his life in Watertown, New York. In 1997, he started working at Barrett Paving Materials, where he began as a Flagger and quickly worked his way up to Heavy Highway Equipment Operator, Master Roller Operator. He traveled all throughout the North Country for work with his partners in crime, Mike and Ms. Bonnie. Every road he paved, he made sure to let his family know of his masterpiece. He was with Barrett Paving for 30 years until his passing.

Ronald was a proud father of 3 daughters; Twanisha S. Killian-Graham, Jasmine K. Gifford and Jade I. Hall. Grandfather of 2, Al Givans Jr. and Alayaih Givans.

Ronald filled his time doing what he loved most, spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed basketball, golf, a good hand of spades, dominos, fashion, traveling, fishing, and spontaneous cook outs. He was an excellent golfer; his friends called him the “Tiger Woods of the North Country.” Ronald was a lifelong Knicks fan and proud to show it.

You could always hear him coming from a mile away, with his music proudly blasting: old- school rap, R&B, reggae, and so much more.

Ronald adored his mother and sisters. Without fail, he delivered his mother the Sunday newspaper every week. She always cooked the meals he loved the most: baked chicken, smothered pork chops, baby lima beans with a side of rice, and neck bones. Real soul food. He was especially close with his sister Dawn: always goofing off together, looking out for each other, and even learning sign language together.

Ronald and Jodi shared more than thirty years together, proud parents of their two daughters; Jasmine Kay and Jade Ipolani. She loved him through every season of that life. Among the things she will miss most is cooking for him and making sure his colors matched with his fit for the day.

Above all, Ronald took care of all his girls. Growing up, they rarely played a game or attended an event without him in the stands. Throughout their adulthood, he continued to be their biggest cheerleader. Never to miss a milestone or pop up for a visit, no matter the location. Their very best friend. Ronald spoiled his grandchildren without apology and always made time to visit Arkansas. His days were measured by if the people around him were happy and healthy, which is exactly how those who loved him will remember him.

He is survived by mother, Toni Brown of Watertown; wife, Jodi L. Hall of Watertown; daughters, Twanisha S. Killian-Graham of Arkansas, Jasmine K. Gifford and companion Jon Paul Vanier and Jade I. Hall of Watertown; sisters Dawn M. Bost-Brown of Watertown, Turquoise M. Waters and spouse Darnell D. Waters of California; grandchildren, Al Givans Jr. and Alayaih Givans of Arkansas; Uncles Leroy and spouse Chevaughn Anderson of New York City, Bernell Pack of Great Bend; nieces Maxime R. Bost-Brown of Watertown, Rain E. Waters of California; nephews Jackson D. Waters and Blue H. Waters of California. He also leaves behind his cherished friends who are considered family.

He was predeceased by Roy A. Bost, Jeannie Pack, Otis Pack, James O. Hall, and Robert E. Pack.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hart & Bruce Funeral Home in Watertown, NY. Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. A memorial service will follow immediately at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends and family are invited to join together in remembering and honoring him.
