Ronald K. Harris, age 74 of Dexter passed away Wednesday evening at Mercy of Northern New York. He had been a resident at Mercy for the past three years. Ronald was born April 23, 1934 in the Town of Champion. He was the youngest son of Arthur and Gertrude Williams Harris. He attended school at the Champion Rural School. He married Shirley Lortis and that marriage ended in divorce. There were four children of that marriage. He was a farmer in Champion until 1981 when he moved to Dexter. He also delivered papers for the Watertown Daily Times in Dexter for several years. His companion for over thirty years Bonnie Bonanna died January 11, 2007. Ronald is survived by the following children Sonia R. Harris of Dexter, Jodi L. Harris of Watertown, Misty A. Harris-Nabewaniec of Rochester and Kenneth F. Harris of Dexter. He also has a brother Arthur (Lyle) Harris of Florida and a sister Evelyn Meyers of Champion and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews surviving. He was predeceased by sisters Helen Fiestel, Anna Gehring, and brothers Roy Harris, Darwin Harris and Lionel Harris. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 4:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Pastor Paul Gmitter of Dexter Faith Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 3-4P.M.
