Ruth I. Schaumburg, 84, formerly of Adams, NY, passed January 1, 2017 at the Samaritan Summit Village where she had resided since 2015.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.  There will be no calling hours or memorial service.  A graveside service will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.

Born on September 13, 1932, in Adams, NY, daughter of the late Milton Berry and Marion (Broadberry) Hedger, she graduated from Belleville Henderson High School.

She worked at Dry Hill Air Force Base as a commissary manager and was then promoted to produce manager when she transferred to Hancock Air Force Base in Syracuse where she worked up until she retired.

She enjoyed Bingo, crafts and ceramics.

Ruth is survived by three sons and two daughters in law; Virgil-Larry and Dawn Patchen, Calcium, Doug Patchen and his companion Heather, Adams, Gary and Cathy Patchen, Adams; two daughters and their husbands, Marsha and Dale Buschak, CT, Renee and Bruce Roggie, Henderson; a sister, Rosa-Mary Daleski, PA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
