Sara Beth Houghtaling Knowles Sara was born in Watertown, NY. December 1, 1983, the daughter of Gary and Patricia Houghtaling. Sara graduated in from Sackets Harbor Central in 2001, SUNY Potsdam, and completed her masters program at Syracuse University. On May 23, 2009, Sara married Major Foster E. Knowles and moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Sara taught Spanish at Syracuse University, and Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. Sara was blessed with intelligence, quick wit, humor and a radiant smile. Sara's life was filled with laughter, adventure, friends and a love of family. Sara's passions include travel, teaching, languages, Syracuse Basketball, and her BMW. Sara is survived by her husband Major Foster E. Knowles, Sanford NC, her parents Gary and Patricia Houghtaling Sackets Harbor NY, her sister Stacie (Jeremy) Belair, Hilton, NY; brother, Jordan D. (Christy Windover) Houghtaling, Sackets Harbor; nieces, Braedyn, Ava and nephew, Liam Belair; Grandparents, Leon and Joan Shatraw, Dexter, and a large extended loving family.
