Sarah R. Brown, age 56 of NYS Rte 180, Clayton passed away at the home of her daughter in Lakeport, N.Y. Saturday morning. She had been ill with cancer and was under the care of her family. Sarah was born January 31, 1952 in Syracuse, N.Y. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Galloway Russum. She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, New Jersey. She attended college at Kent State and received a BA in Home Economics from St. Elizabeth's College in Madison, N.J. She married Glenn R. Brown on September 21, 1974 in Madison, N.J. The couple lived in New Jersey until moving to Omar in 1976. She worked as the cafeteria manager at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown until the arrival of her children. She then Home Schooled her children for 12 years and was a Distributor for Shaklee Health Products and owned her own cleaning service. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church of Dexter. Surviving is her husband Glenn and four children: Mrs. Brent Melissa Buneo of Canastota, Christopher and Amanda Brown of Gloversville, Timothy Brown of Syracuse and Jessica Brown of Syracuse. She also has a sister Ann Russum of Princeton, N.J. and her twin brother John and his wife Jeanne Russum of Los Angeles. She also has nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at the Pavilion in Sackets Harbor with Pastor Paul Gmitter of Dexter Faith Fellowship Church officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be private at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown.
