Scott T. Backus, 58 of Three Mile Bay, NY passed away Friday in Syracuse, suffering a heart attack while working on a job. Scott was born May 12, 1960 in Watertown, the son of Harry and Beverly Thompson Backus.  He graduated from Lyme Central School.  He was a heavy equipment operator for Pike Co. of Rochester. Scott was married to Julie Valvo who passed away and married later to Rene' Brundish who he later divorced. Scott is survived by two sons: Jacob and Kaitlin Backus of Watertown and Zachary Backus and his companion Danielle Shanahan of Dexter.  A grandchild Julian Backus and two brothers Shawn West and Brad West both of Three Mile Bay and also step-mother Anna Backus of Texas also survive. Funeral services will be Wednesday 11:00 are at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.  Burial will be in New Cedar Grove Cemetery of Chaumont.  Calling hours will be from 5:30 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be made to dexterfuneralhome.com.
