Sheila L. Thomas, 80 of Dexter, passed away Friday afternoon at Samaritan Keep Home where she has resided since February 2012. Sheila was born September 21, 1940 in Oneida, N.Y. the daughter of Lloyd and Wilma Congdon Bryant. She graduated from Dexter High School. Sheila married Lowell G. Thomas on July 27, 1952 in Dexter. Mr. Thomas passed away January 18, 2012. She enjoyed being active in community organizations. She was a member of the Dexter Fireman's Auxiliary, the Dexter Chamber of Commerce, Dexter Citizen's Committee, an elections inspector, a certified EMT and she and Lowlee were selected Dexter Citizens of the Year in May 1982. Surviving are five children: Cheryl and Steve Lane, Darrel Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, Steven Thomas all of Dexter and Christopher Thomas of Watertown. She has seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She has three brothers surviving: Lloyd and Margaret Bryant of Grand Pass, Oregon, Ronald and Betty Bryant of Central Square and Richard Bryant address unknown. She was predeceased by her husband and a grandson David Lane, also brothers Theodore and Carl Bryant. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 26th at 2:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the funeral.
