"The suffering is over. Our eyes will water for awhile; but the memories of our loved one will live on forever- for our Lord has taken her home and the peace in her soul will console our hearts until we meet again" Shirley passed away Monday morning at Samaritan Keep Home after many years of struggling with Parkinson's , with her family at her side. Shirley was born July 12, 1934 in Belleville the daughter of Walter and Pearl Squires Getman Stahl. She was a graduate of Lyme Central School in 1954. She married Noah A. Prior on July 31, 1954 in Brownville. She worked at various restaurants, Puritan Clothing Store in Watertown, Brownville Paper Co. She also worked at Price Chopper in Guilderland, N.Y. She was an instructor for Diet Workshop and owned and operated with her husband Springledge Dairy Farm, Evans Mills. She and her husband moved to Guilderland in 1987 and returned to the Watertown area in 2000. Shirley was a member of Brownville American Legion Auxiliary, former member of Pamelia Grange, and St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society of Evans Mills. She enjoyed spending time with her family, collecting jewelry( especially rings) and her clock collection. She is survived by her husband Noah, five sons and their spouses; Rick and Sue Prior of Mohawk, N.Y., Noah Jr. and Terry Prior of Theresa, Bruce and SueAnn Prior of Watertown, Jeffrey and Christine Prior of Johnstown, Todd and Debra Prior of Harpersfield; two daughters and their spouses; Rebecca and Randy Bushaw of Antwerp, and Natalie and Robert Powell of Middleburg. She has a brother and his wife Edwin and Suzanne Wagner-White-Galloway of N.J., 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and stepfather Bruce Getman, a daughter-in-law Tammy Greenwood Prior and a granddaughter Mary Angelica Prior and a grandson Micah O. Prior. Funeral services will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Fr. Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 -7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
