Shirley A. Wright, 79, of 138 Wyoming Ave., Watertown, passed December 6, 2014 at the Samaritan Medical Center with her family by her side due to complications with lung cancer.  She also suffered from Alzheimer's disease.

Born on February 22, 1935 in Watertown, NY, daughter of Frank E. and Margaret Hurley Topping, she graduated from Watertown High School in 1953.

She attended Syracuse Beauty School and worked as a beautician out of her home on Flower Avenue in Watertown for over 30 years.

She married Alan W. Wright on June 11, 1960 at St. Patrick's Church.

Besides her loving husband of fifty four years, Alan W. Wright, she is survived by four sons and two daughters in law, Daniel A. Wright, Redwood, NY, Steven and Karen Wright, Adams Center, NY, John W. Wright and his companion Lynn Wills, Watertown, George H. and Robin Wright Harpursville, NY; four grandchildren, Jessica A., Nichole, Sophia G. and Nathaniel A. Wright.

A brother Richard Topping and her parents all passed before her.

She cherished the times she spent with her friends and family and they cherished their time with her. She enjoyed knitting and reading.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 9th at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.  Burial will follow in Sanford Corners Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 8th at the funeral home.
