Obituary

Steven G. Henri, 58, of 10809 Limburg Forks Road, Carthage, passed July 29, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica. A memorial service with military honors will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 3 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 N. Massey St., Watertown. Born on October 28, 1957 in Akron, OH, the son of J.R. Claude and Helen I. (Gotham) Henri, he graduated from Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, NY in 1974. He then entered the US Air Force in 1974 and was honorably discharged in 1978. Steve married Christine Wheeler, the love of his life, on September 9, 2006 in Great Bend. The couple resided in Carthage.  He was currently working on Fort Drum for the Department of Defense and Quality Assurance, where he had worked for the past 17 years.  He also owned and operated Video Plus for over twenty years in Carthage and surrounding areas. Steve and his wife enjoyed spending summers at Lake Bonaparte, where he owned a cottage. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling for Jimmy Buffett concerts with his wife and friends, playing golf, and watching the NY Giants and Syracuse Orange. He also enjoyed playing basketball with his son, Steven, and going to watch his games. Among his survivors are his mother, Helen Gotham Henri, Syracuse; his loving wife, Christine J. Henri, Carthage; a daughter, Stephanie L. Wheeler, Watertown; three sons, Tim Parrow, Daytona Beach, FL, Nicholas C. Wheeler, Carthage, Steven R. Henri, Fulton; two grandchildren and one on the way, Corbin Stevens, Maddison Parrow and Owen Wheeler; a sister and brother in law, Michele and James Gagne and their two sons, Cody and Luke Faulkner, Syracuse; his father and mother in law, John and Agnes Rutledge; a brother and sister in law, Bill and Beth Curtis and their son Austin Curtis; several aunts, uncles, cousins and his loyal dog, Bronx. His father J.R. Claude Henri and a brother, Robert C. Henri both passed before him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O.
