Obituary

Teresa Stevenson, 83, of 161 Bowers Ave., Watertown, passed October 11, 2014 at the Samaritan Medical Center following a brief illness. Born on September 26, 1931 in the Town of Antwerp, the daughter of the late Lyle W. and Teresa Whalen Hall, she graduated from the Antwerp High School in 1949. She married George W. Stevenson on September 27, 1949 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Antwerp. Mrs. Stevenson worked many years as a waitress at Longway's Diner and for Klein's All-Sports in Watertown. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her grandchildren. Among her survivors are her loving husband of 65 years, George W. Stevenson, Watertown; a son and daughter in law, Jeff and Deb Stevenson, Watertown; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew and Tyler; three brothers and two sisters in law, James E. and Jean Hall, Watertown, Lawrence W. Hall, Waterville, Frederick E. and Elma Hall, Antwerp; a sister, Mary Bastian, Clayton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her son, Paul W. Stevenson passed on April 16, 2013.   She was especially proud of Paul and his work as a State Department Foreign Service Officer and the diplomatic and humanitarian work he provided in Africa. Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, October 13 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown. The funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the nurses at Public Health for their compassionate care during a difficult time. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
