Thomas R. Riley, 55, of Black River, New York, passed away on April 24, 2024, at Samaritan Medical Center.
He was born on December 22, 1968, in Watertown, New York, the son of Thomas F. Riley and Mary E. (Schneider) Riley. Thomas attended Watertown High School. Over the years he worked for various construction companies and tree services. Most of his career was spent as a self-employed mechanic in the local area. In his younger years, Thomas enjoyed hunting and racing cars.
Among his survivors are his mother, Mary E. Riley, of Carthage, NY, his two children, Christopher A. Riley and Richard J. Riley, both of New York; grandchildren; his stepmother, Rosemary Riley, of Calcium, NY and his siblings, Cathie (Allen) Reustle of Colorado, Angel Ashley and her companion, Pat McGillicuddy, of Carthage, NY, Carson Riley, of Watertown, NY, Kassandra Riley, Carthage, NY, Keandra Riley, Watertown, NY, Kiara Riley, Carthage, NY, Kallen Hull, Erin Dulmage, and Desiree Talbot, all of New York, Shane M. Barr, Felts Mills, NY and Tim A. Barr, Carthage, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
Thomas was predeceased by his father, Thomas F. Riley, his son, Thomas W. Riley, his stepfather, John E. Riley, and a brother, John Warner.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 30th, from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Bruce Funeral Home, 131 Maple Street, Black River. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Felts Mills Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the burial at the Black River American Legion Post 673.
