Vera H. Kostyk, age 85 of County Rte 53 Dexter died Thursday evening at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown. Vera was born October 29, 1925 in Dexter, the daughter of Joseph and Jenny Vegara Kostyk. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1940 and Crouse School of Nursing in 1946. Vera was a registered nurse at Crouse Hospital and the Onondaga Co. Health Dept. in Syracuse. She is survived by a sister Margaret L. Kostyk of Samaritan Keep Home, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters; Mary Kostyk, Doris Melhado, Andrew Kostyk, Theodore Kostyk, Peter Kostyk, Alexander Kostyk, Edith Cole and Nicholas Kosytk. Funeral services will be held today Saturday May 21st. at 2:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Fr. Kevin O'Brien of Immaculate Conception Church officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be 1 hour prior to the funeral.
