Obituary

Viola A. Kimmett, age 88 of Old Rome State Rd, Watertown; passed away Monday morning at University Hospital, Syracuse. Viola was born December 10, 1920 in Paulsboro, N.J. the daughter of William and Elsie Collett Price. She attended school in Wilkes-Barre, PA and married Gerald Kimmett on May 25, 1955 at the Sackets Harbor Presbyterian Church. Viola worked as a waitress at Bachners' in Sackets Harbor, Woolworths Lunch Counter in Watertown, Empsalls Dept. Store and the Woodruff Hotel. She was a member of Brownville Eastern Stars, American Legion Auxiliary in Brownville where she was a past president, Watertown VFW Auxiliary, Marine Corps League Auxiliary. Viola is survived by her husband Gerald, and two sons and their wives: Brian and Brenda Kimmett of Champion and Gregory and Annea Kimmett of Lakeland, Florida. She also has four grandchildren and great grandchildren surviving and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers William and Edward and Elwood Price and a sister Mary Scanlon. Funeral services will be Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Patricia Walz of Dexter United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor. Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9.
