Obituary

Warren K. Pitre, 76, of 30124 NYS Rt. 3, Black River, passed May 6, 2017 at the Carthage Area Hospital.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service.  Arrangements are with the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.

Born on January 3, 1941 in Ogdensburg, NY, son of  Jeddie I. and Dorothy ( Baker) Pitre, he attended school in Evans Mills.  He worked on the family farm in Evans Mills and at the age of 18 he went to work for the Coca Cola Co. in Watertown as a line worker.  He moved to Syracuse in 1960 where  he assisted his father working as a manager for three different gas stations.

He married Marion E. Thomas, of Natural Bridge,  on August 3, 1968 at the Warner's Methodist Church in Warner's, NY.  The couple resided in Syracuse for a year and then moved to Great Bend in 1969.  He worked for Canteen Vending Co in Carthage and also for the Town of Champion as a heavy equipment operator.  He then became self employed where he worked for the Post Standard Co. and delivered their airfreight out of Syracuse.  He and his wife owned and operated the Black River Beer & Wine Hobby Shop for ten years, retiring in 1998.

He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

Among his survivors are his beloved wife, Marion E. Pitre, Black River;  two sons and their wives, Clinton C. and Sherry Adner, Canton, NY, Mark J. and Kathern Montondo, Glen Park; a daughter and son in law, Tina M. and Eric Thomas, Black River; a sister, Trudy Andrus, Tully, NY; eight grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren ,several nieces and nephews.

Five brothers, Wayne H., Dennis, David E.,Darrell W. and Jeddie Pitre; a sister, Nancy Pitre; and a grandson Jared Adner all died before him.
