Wesley H. Gilman, age 98 of Dexter passed away Sunday March 15, 2015 at Hospice at Ellis Farm, Watertown. Wesley was born September 8, 1916 in Theresa the son of Lawrence and Emma Pierce Gilman. He graduated from Theresa High School in 1937. He married Leone Mack in October 1937 and that marriage ended in divorce. Wesley entered the Army in April of 1944 and served until December 1945. Wesley was a farmer and also worked as a mechanic at Gilman's Garage in Theresa for several years and later worked at the Jefferson County Highway Dept. as a mechanic until he retired in 1978. He married Marion E. Priest-Appell on August 5, 1961 at the Theresa United Methodist Church. She passed away August 19,2007. Wesley was a member of Dexter Lodge Free & Accepted Masons #1072, Eastern Stars, Dexter Grange, Dexter Senior Citizens and Dexter American Legion. He is survived by four daughters: Beverly Tousley of Theresa, Carol Langford of Utah, Deanna Todd of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Karen Underwood of Casper, Wyoming. He has 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. His sister Phyllis Hudelston of Watertown and Donna Dellelo of Theresa and numerous nieces and nephews survive. He was predeceased by a brother Ralph, and sisters Gladys Lester and Willabelle Coon Funeral services will be Thursday March 19th at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Sally Buyea of the Dexter United Methodist Church officiating at 7:00 P.M. There will be also a Masonic service at that time. There are no calling hours.
