William J. Brett, 76, of North Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Watertown passed away Sun- day morning August 29, 2010. He was born July 28, 1934 in Watertown, the son of William P. and Gladys Anderson Brett. He attended Watertown High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1951 to 1954. He married Betty Wood in 1956 at Holy Family Church. He worked for various sign companies until he started his own company, BPR in Watertown. Bill moved to Fort Myers, Florida in 1977 and was in the printing business. He was a member of St. Cecelia's Catholic Community in Fort Myers, Florida. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing,and spending time with his family. Everyone will remember Bill for his great sense of humor. Bill is survived by his son William P. and his companion Jan Dudley, three daughters and their spouses, Mrs. Tom (Patti) Foley Naperville, Ill., Mrs. Jay (Beth) Jernigan Inverness, FL, and Mrs. Tom (Kathy) Frears, Brownville, a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Robert Cerrato, Fort Myers, FL, seven grandchildren, five great grand-children and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, a sister, Joan Duffany, a sister, Jeanne Reed, and a grandson, William J. Brett. The funeral will be at 11:00 on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Holy Family Church in Watertown with Father Wiley officiating. The family will be receiving friends and loved ones in the vestibule of the church from 10:00 until 11:00. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
