William H. McDaniel, 48, of 8695 Cemetery Road, Evans Mills, passed March 7, 2014 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Born on July 14, 1965, in Meridian, Mississippi, son of Leatha McDaniel and Anderson Mann, he graduated from Austin Academy in Chicago, Illinois.

He entered the US Army in 1983 and retired on August 26, 1999 due to disability. He received the Meritorious Service Medal, Certificate of Appreciation from US West Point Military Academy, a certificate for completing the basic non commissioned officer course for combat arms, a certificate for graduation from the primary leadership development course.

He married Pok Hui Yi on April 29, 1988 in Seoul, Korea.

He was a mechanic and electrician by hobby, enjoyed watching movies with his son, going to race car and antique car shows, and customizing his 1988 Chevy Pickup.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Brian J. McDaniel and a daughter, Angela T. McDaniel, both of Evans Mills; his mother, Leatha M. McDaniel, and a brother, Victor McDaniel, both of Broadview, IL.

A sister, Felicia McDaniel passed before him.

A funeral service will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.

Burial with military honors will take place in the spring at the Brookside Cemetery.
