William S. Pettit, age 85 of Sackets Harbor, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Summit Village, Watertown. William was born June 12,1929 in Sackets Harbor, the son of Roland and Viola Newberry Pettit. He graduated from Sackets Harbor High School and Michigan University. He then served in the Army. William lived in New York City and worked at Dunn & Bradstreet where he was Maintenance Building Supervisor for 30 years. He retired and moved back to Sackets Harbor in 1990. He was a member of American Legion Post 1757 in Sackets Harbor. He was never married and there are no known surviving family. He will be cremated and buried in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
