Winnifred L. Hayes, 90, of 1201 Jewell Dr., Watertown, passed March 4, 2015 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service.  A graveside service will take place in the spring at the Glenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.

Born on October 4, 1924 in Watertown, NY, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Alice Coe Lapum, she graduated from WHS in 1942.

She married Lawrence R. Hayes on March 27, 1948 at Holy Family Church with Rev Argy officiating.

Mrs. Hayes worked several years for the NY Telephone Co.  She enjoyed bowling, gardening and word puzzles.

Larry and Winnie celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family at Lighthouse Inn, in Solomon's Island, MD.

Among her survivors are a grandson, Mark G. Hayes and his wife Aimee and two great grandchildren, Teaghan and Brantley Hayes all of Leonardtown, MD.

A son, Gary Lawrence Hayes died in 1982. Her husband died in 2007. Two sisters, Reba Lapum and Hilda Bowers died before her.  Her daughter in law, Linda Jobson Hayes Valenteen died in 2011.
