David G. Constance, 77, of Calcium, New York, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024 at the Samaritan Medical Center.
Born on July 5, 1946, to Donald R. and Madeline (Bates) Constance, he graduated from Watertown High School in 1966 and dedicated six years to the Army Reserves, serving with the 479th Engineers. During his lifetime, David worked at Mercy Hospital, House of the Good Samaritan, and St. Regis Paper Company for a total of 30 years. He later spent 15 years at Champion until its closure in 1999. A skilled carpenter, he owned A - Z repairs, and his craftsmanship extended to five years with the Sisters of St. Joseph.
David, a member of the Brownville American Legion for over 25 years, was alsoa former member of the Eagles Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, walking, biking, and motorcycle rides.
He is survived by his fiancée, Rose Reviere of Evans Mills, two sons, David A. Constance of Watertown, NY, and Daniel Constance of Albany, along with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Donald and sister-in-law Peggy Constance of La Porte, Indiana, sister Patsy Fuller of Orlando, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. David’s love extended to his loyal pets: dog Brandy Lynn, and cats Baby Lynn, Munchkin Lynn, Tara, BJ, and Cody.
Arrangements are with the Hart and Bruce Funeral Home, and per his wishes, there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Rosiere, New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Catholic Charities.
