Kevin Kitto Jr. Obituary

Kevin R. Kitto, Jr., 32, of Watertown, New York, tragically passed away in a car accident on October 26, 2023.

Kevin “Rusty” was born on November 1, 1990, in Watertown, New York, the beloved son of Kevin R. and Marietta B. (Rivers) Kitto. Rusty attended Sackets Harbor Central School and IHC, where he not only excelled in football and baseball but also shone in the music program, participating in concert and marching bands, displaying his musical talents in various variety shows, and showcasing his percussion skills. His dedication extended to the Watertown Lyric Theater, where he was actively involved for many years. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts during his time at Sackets Harbor Central School and the Young Marine Corps in Watertown. An enthusiastic animal lover, Rusty had a special talent for nurturing various creatures, from chickens and quail to ducks, finches, cats, dogs, and even a few goats. He shared this deep affection for animals with his wife. Known for his kind and considerate nature, Rusty was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Most of his career was dedicated to the construction industry, working for Greene Structures in Alex Bay and, more recently, On the River Construction in Clayton, New York.

Rusty married the love of his life, Jubilee Olah, on October 7, 2023, at Bonnie Castle Resort in Alex Bay, New York, his father Reverend Kevin R. Kitto officiated. Their shared love for video games brought them together. An avid nature enthusiast, Rusty found solace with Jubilee and in son in activities such as kayaking, hiking, and immersing himself in the great outdoors. He always stood up for injustices and constantly put others first. His kindness, heart, drive, and dedication to those around him will never be forgotten. Above all else, Rusty was known for being a True Drengr, a considerate man.

Among his survivors are his cherished wife, Jubilee A. Kitto, his son, Ethan Richard Kitto, his parents, Kevin R. and Marietta Kitto of Adams, New York, two brothers, Cedrick O.R. Kitto and his companion, Courtney LaFlesh, of Dexter, New York, and Braeden S. Kitto of Adams, New York. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Rene and Jeff Askanazi of Michigan, and his paternal grandparents, Floyd “Duff” and Susan Kitto of Pillar Point, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 1st, on Rusty’s birthday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, NY.

The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Mike Weeden, will take place on Thursday, November 2nd, at the Adams United Methodist Church, 36 East Church Street in Adams, at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at the church.

In lieu of flowers and gifts the family requests that funds may be donated directly to Jubilee, or to their Go Fund Me Page at https://gofund.me/d60fdb5a.
