Lois E. Wilson, 101 of 15 Forester Road, Liverpool, N.Y. passed away on December 25, 2020 at the Iroquois Nursing Home.
Born in Redford, Michigan on December 7, 1919, daughter of Arthur C. and Hazel C. (Atkins) Moore, Lois graduated from Watertown High School in June of 1938.
She married Royal L. Wilson in Parishville, N.Y. on September 10, 1938 by Reverend VanValkenbrg. The marriage was blessed at Holy Family Church, Watertown, on September 5, 1939 by Reverend Skelly.
Lois worked at A &P grocery store on Arsenal St. in Watertown for several years and then at Marine Midland Bank, as a bank teller, from 1967 to 1977. She was also a caretaker for Little Kildare Hunting Club in Colton, N.Y. for many years after moving to Parishville in 1977. Lois resided with her daughter, son-in-law, and family in Liverpool from 2003-2016 until she went to Brookdale Assisted Senior Living Facility. She suffered a fractured hip on October 25, 2020 and had been in Iroquois Rehab Program beginning October 31, 2020.
Lois was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Altar Rosary Society in Watertown, the Red Hat Society of Parishville and Potsdam, Senior Centers in Parishville and Potsdam, and the Senior Center Pinochle Club in Liverpool. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, cards, and bingo. She loved spending time with friends and family.
Lois had a life well lived and shared with so many. There were no strangers only friends she had yet to meet.
Lois was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Royal L. Wilson in March of 2000, sons David J. Wilson (infant) 1941, William R. Wilson, June 2001, and a daughter Darlene A. Wilson-Hogan in Feb 2003. Five siblings predeceased her, Donald L. Moore, Arthur C. Moore Jr., Elizabeth Schweitzer, William D. Moore, a daughter-in-law Annette Wilson, three sons-in-law, Richard Atchie, Gerald Pierce, and William Hogan.
She is survived by five daughters Dianne Pierce, Donna (Wesley) Eisenhauer, Joanne (John) Ratigliano, all of Watertown, Judith Atchie, Canton, N.Y., and Jeannine (Daniel) Dupee, Liverpool, N.Y., a stepsister Patricia Reagan, Cape Vincent, three half siblings, Cora Jane, Florida, Thomas Moore, Camillus, N.Y., Constance Benson, Utica, N.Y.,30 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass for Royal and Lois will be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church at a later date. Burial will follow in N. Watertown Cemetery.
