Ronald Lewis Sr. Obituary

Ronald J. Lewis Sr., 72, of Watertown, NY passed away February 8, 2024 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

He was born on June 8, 1951 in Lowville, NY, son of Gerald and Georgina (Gamble) Lewis. He graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1970.

He went to work at NY Air Brake where he worked for 23 years, retiring in 1995.  He started out as a machinist and retired as a control specialist.

He married Ellen Davis together they had three children before the marriage ended in divorce. He married Patricia Solar on May 8, 1980 and the couple was married for 18 years, she passed away in 1998.  He then married Dorothy A. Sampson on January 23, 1999 in Watertown. Dorothy was a homemaker.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, working outdoors, reading, going for walks with his wife, watching tv and spending time with the family and grandchildren.

Among his survivors are his beloved wife Dorothy Lewis, Watertown; two sons, Scott C. Lewis, Watertown, NY and Allen Lewis, OR; three steps children, James Ferard Jr., Watertown, NY, Michael (Jade) Ferard, WA, and Alena (Stephen) Robinson, NH;  a brother and sister in law, Albert (Diane) Lewis, Lowville, NY; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by a son, Ronald J. Lewis Jr., a brother Mark Lewis and a sister, Renee Lewis.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, February 23rd at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Naumburg Cemetery in the spring.
